Rivers Teske – Founder & President

rivers teskeRivers Teske founded Hidden Choices, Inc. as an international nonprofit organization in supporting young women and children living in extreme crisis and poverty.  It was while living and working in Asia during the 1980’s and 90’s that she was moved to make a profound and passionate difference in the lives of people who were abandoned, hungry or discarded as “the world’s throwaways.” Today, Ms. Teske speaks Internationally and builds collaborative relationships with organizations and individuals who are intentional 21st century world changers.

She believes significant change can be made in today’s global community through social investing and creative human possibility.  Her passion is to alleviate extreme poverty through collaborative efforts in education which support the most vulnerable.   Ms. Teske believes in the declared human rights of the family protected at all stages, achieving success and living life defined by purpose and love.

Rivers Teske’s Expanded Program Initiatives

  • Targeting poverty with sustainable farming & egg projects providing food & nutrition for orphan care and job creation in rural communities
  • Keeping villages of 300 – 500pp safer, healthier and more efficient with clean water projects
  • Educating young women, men, orphans & slum children in K – 12, nursing, technology, and farming schools which ultimately stimulates economic growth within poorer, rural communities and slums.

In U.S.

  • Mapping regional & local housing, education, healthcare and resources for pregnant teen mothers
  • Donating baby cribs for the safety & welfare of vulnerable newborns
  • Raising domestic awareness on critical issues facing communities such as  homelessness, poverty, single parenting, fatherlessness, adoption, child care, domestic violence, foster care and human trafficking
  • Advocating globally for the human rights of the family & protection of life at all stages

Prior to founding Hidden Choices, Ms. Teske owned and operated a successful apparel and manufacturing private label business. She served as a Military Ombudsman & Liaison to Naval personnel and families, spearheaded several Mother Teresa Slum Projects in Tokyo & Asia Pacific with Naval Officers Wives Clubs and the Pacific Fleet.  She is certified by the prestigious Protocol School of Washington® in Business Etiquette and International Protocol, serves on boards for non-profit organizations and in her community. She is a former beauty queen from Texas, a graduate of Baylor University and resides in Westport, Connecticut with her husband, The Rev. Paul Teske.
